App Instructions
** Check your iPhone’s “Ring/Silent” button, setting it to “Silent” will mute this app. **
Use the tabs at the bottom of the screen to navigate through the app.

Tap the “Chord Matcher” tab to look up a chord and see which pentatonic scales you can play over it. Select a root note and chord, then tap the “Go” button.

A list of pentatonic scales that match that chord will be displayed. Tap on the scale you would like to try.

The scale will be displayed, along with a description of how that scale fits over the chord. Tap the upper PLAY button to hear the scale. Tap the lower PLAY button to hear the scale with the chord. Or tap the “TAB” button to see the scale arpeggiated in guitar tab.

The Guitar Tab screen allows you to see all 5 forms of your pentatonic scale. That is, the scale starting on each of the 5 notes. Tap the buttons at the bottom of the screen to select a form, tap on the PLAY button to hear the scale.

Tap the “Scales” tab to bring up the Scale Reference. This is where you can look up any pentatonic scale and see its notation or guitar tab. Select a root note, and a pentatonic scale name. Then tap “Show Notation” to see the notes, or “Show Tab” to see the guitar tab for the scale.

Tapping “Show Notation” will show the notes. Press PLAY to hear the scale.

Tapping “Show Tab” will show the guitar tab.

Tap the “Create” tab to create your own pentatonic scale. Your scale consists of 5 notes, the first one is always 1 .You will enter the next 4 notes in the white buttons in the middle of the screen. Tap each white button to select it, and then select one of the green notes on the piano. Tap the PLAY button to hear the scale. Tap the “X” button to clear all notes. Tap the “TAB” button to display the guitar tab for your scale. When you are ready to save your new scale, tap “Save”.

When you tap “Save”, you will be asked to enter the name of your scale. Your new scale will appear in the Scale Reference, and will appear in the search results for any matching chords. Tap the “Exit” button if you do not wish to save the scale.
